Profit = $0

I'm firming up details, but 100% of the profits from the "Fairy Tales" anthology will be going to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. They are a non-profit organization that helps comic book shop owners and creators in times of desperate need. It's desperately needed help as most in the comic book industry live on a shoestring budget and don't have the hundred thousands required to fight the crazies in court.

Do you know this person?

If you know someone whom you think would make a good addition to the anthology, and might be willing, please email me. I don't want to leave anyone out on purpose. Especially if they might help us raise more money for CBDLF.

One submission per person.

Another rule I forgot to mention, only one submission per person. I know that some can do 100 in a couple months, but I've got to place some limits.

Deadline: Mr. Stretchman

Just wanted to say, especially for comic book creators, the deadline is flexible. This isn't a paying gig so we're flexible. So while I don't want to drag this anthology out too long, email me and I can work with you. I'd rather have a wonderful book than to be too strict about deadlines.

Welcome to Retreat Anthologies.

The first anthology will be Fairy Tales.

The rules:

  1. Limits: 20 page maximum per person. (Except in a case of emergency when you MUST have a couple more pages. Exceptions determined on a case by case basis.)
  2. Art is black & white, color limited to 4 cover pages.
  3. Print size: 5.5"x8.5"
  4. At least 400 DPI resolution. For maximum clarity file formats should be, art as .tifs and text files as .EPS. You can send me word documents and I'll convert them if you'd like to .eps.
  5. The theme of this first anthology is fairy tales. You can interpret that as you wish.
  6. Just one (1) submission per person.

Deadlines:

September 1st for prose, poems, etc.

December 1st for comics, art, etc.

We are flexible, but the goal is to have the book ready for a 2008 spring release.
